Ralph,
From the forward
you sent about the original Osborn, it seems that some of our friends in
CT with a similar surname would rather not be associated with lowly
upstate New Yorkers. I too have not been convinced about the connection
because Jan and I have never been able to establish a paper trail
between Schuyler's and Phineas A.'s father, Phineas and any one earlier. Would
love to have help there if you know of any proof. Another thing that has
always been a puzzle for us is what the documentation is for the middle
initial "O." for the elder Phineas. It tends to pop up on
various internet postings but we can't figure out from where it came.
Need help there also.
Have you ever
considered ordering the dna kit? I guess that might be a way of tying us to
Thomas and Mary Goatly Osborn. I'm tempted to at least investigate it.
Who knows what the testing accuracy may be though and if there may be some
biases thrown into the mix.
I've attached a
copy of my family group (the genealogy of which I am somewhat certain) for
replacing the handwritten sheet that is posted and I shall replace each of the
others after updating them and checking them for accuracy.
Regards,
Jerry Osbon
