Silver Birches eBook

The Earle Waite family, after Bess died, were in difficult emotional and financial times. When Earle married Fan they got control of the finances and were able to use some money to pay for a weekend vacation for the whole family. This included the families of Marion Hall, Don and Ralph Waite.

Silver birches is a Inn on the Lake Wallenpaupack Penna. The event was for sharing stories, chatting. Earle enjoyed sailing people around the Lake. We did swimming if it was warm enough, played shuffle board and horse shoes. Some of the adults would visit the local Bar next door after Earle went to bed.

The grand kids were Doris, Jim, Dan, Marilyn and Ralph Jr,  We kids enjoyed the wait staff for extra service. The annual event was held in around June and ran from 1943 until my guess 1962.

During the later period Gil Hall would bring his motor boat from his local hand made cabin for the kids water skiing.

A birthday party was held at Earle's house in April each year.

Earle would take his own vacations around the world and the Silver birches and the exclusive Sky Top Lodge in the Poconos.
