Keitz History per JohnPenn Keitz McKees Rocks Pa

Gertrude's parents were John Weaver  a horse trader and Anna Peterson
who parents were William Peterson B1821 D1907 and was of Swedish or German and he married Anna Ritenour
.

John Weaver was a contractor in Westmoreland County and he owned ¼ section or 640 acres. He supplied horse teams to the Mellons and others, for building. John died in 1907 after the economic panic.

After 1907, Anna Peterson Weaver remarried a man named Heartic who was viewed as a gold digger and not liked by the Keitz family. A family feud over the  “Will” of Anna Weaver which left a trust for use with Gertrude’s children was broken and the home and stable in east Liberty section was split and Gertrude got 1/3 which was sold to Black section and ½ of the farm in Westmoreland which was the original Peterson estate. Ted Keitz Jr and his bother Ed Keitz had owned 25 acres of the passed down original land, and they had to deal with the significant back taxes owed upon Gertrude’s death.

Ed and George Peterson (sons) lived with the Keitz family.

Josef Maria Keitz family came from from Eiterfeld in 1858 - which is north of Fulda, Germany

Keitz data from our family tree conflicts with some of the John (Jack) Penn's book history.

Andrew Keitz was secretary of the prince bishop of the diocese of Fulda. Was a Roman Catholic.
